The Organisation

Presentation

The mission of our organization, according to the statute:
The Mission of Alumnus Club UNESCO derives from the principles of the United Nations Organization for Education, Science and Culture and of the Declaration of Human Rights, issued by the General Assembly of the United Nations Organizations on the 10th December 1948.

Promoting UNESCO's ideals trough specific actions in the fields of education, research and culture, as well as raising the public's awareness on the importance of pursuing such represent the organization's mission.
Our club aims to offer the young people as many chances as possible of involvement in projects meant to develop experience relevant to their field of studies.
Our club promotes the intellectual cooperation between young people, with a special interest in supporting regional intellectual initiatives, aimed at enhancing the existent level of information regarding South-Eastern European societies. The club is composed out of 35 political science students and 5 economic science students.

Number of members at the last General Assembly (March 16, 2001): 42

Relevant projects initiated and accomplished so far:

- Organizer, together with the Romanian Federation of UNESCO Clubs, Centers and Associations, of the Constitutive Assembly of the European Federation of UNESCO Clubs, and Associations, held in Busteni, Romania (February 15-18, 2001)

- "Route of Understanding" project, art exhibition organized in Brasov, Romania, with the help of the Czech Center and the National Commission of Romania for UNESCO (March 2001)

- Exchange program with 15 French students, who visited our country in April 2001 (Partnership with INSAT France)

- Organizer, together with the Polish Embassy and with the Polish Federation of UNESCO Clubs, Centers and Associations, of the "Children Now" event in Romania, an international fund-raising event for disadvantaged children (July 1, 2001)
- Organizer of a project meant to offer two days of holidays to a group of 200 orphans from Bucharest, project entitled "Santa's Train" (December 22-24, 2001)
