Miquel Siguan Award goes to Escola Colònia Güell in Sta. Coloma and Escola Dr. Robert in Camprodon

Linguapax and the UNESCO Associated Schools Network delivered las Wednesday, May 23, the third Siguan Michael Award aimed to promote the dissemination of Linguapax and publicize the work achieved in all schools to promote linguistic diversity, language teaching and learning, awareness of the world's languages and also the efforts to promote their own language.

 

Schools winning this year are tied Colony School, for her project "Many languages, many colors," and for the second consecutive year, Dr. School. Robert Camprodon, the project "Nests of words," both in the category of institutions not affiliated to the Network of UNESCO Associated Schools.

 
In Colònia Güell's project, the jury praised its enthusiasm and inclusive approach to sensitize 
kindergarten pupils to linguistic diversity through the daily practice of simple routines in the classroom, making visible many of the world's languages that kids convey directly or indirectly. In the case of Dr. Robert school, the jury valued the creative and dynamic program that evidences the importance of multilingual competence in different fields of activity of the center.


Likewise, there was no winner in the category schools affiliated to the UNESCO Associated Schools Network.
