The autumn meeting of all member organizations of the Catalan Federation of UNESCO Clubs and Associations, held in Girona today, marks the starting point of the UNESCO Week 2011, which aims to make visible the work carried out by all the differents UNESCO networks in the country, composed of associations and clubs, libraries, schools and university chairs.
The booklet published to commemorate this week from 12 to 19 November includes all activities organized by the many organizations that belong to different networks and associations that make up the dense and dynamic UNESCO community, considered as a model by UNESCO.
November 16 is the anniversary date of the signature, by representatives of 37 States gathered in London in 1945, of the constitutional act of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Culture Organization. The Organization currently has 194 member states (with Palestine and the Republic of South Sudan admitted on 31 October) and it relies on the action of their networks presents in all countries to bring their programs to the public at large.
