The UNESCO Centre of Catalonia – Unescocat and Barcelona City Council offer a travelling exhibition called “L’aigua al segle XXI” (Water in the 21st century) and based on the United Nations World Water Development reports.
The exhibition is made up of a total of seventeen visual, entertaining panels based on the most relevant data collected by the World Water Assessment Programme on these reports which describe the state of water resources and future perspectives of the planet’s freshwater. The collection of data is carried out in cooperation with 24 agencies and United Nations organisations.
The panels were originally published as posters by Unescocat and the Caixa Catalunya foundation as an educational resource for secondary education. It has been transformed into panels for the exhibition which is open to the general public in schools, libraries, civic centres and other public infrastructure in Barcelona.
The aim of the exhibition is to promote reflection and debate on social, economic, cultural and environmental aspects which foster efficient, sustainable water management.

Each school and public infrastructure can exhibit the panels for at least a week. The maximum time depends on the number of requests received.
