Cultural heritage, both tangible and intangible, is an expression of cultural diversity that gives meaning and a sense of continuity to relationships with earlier generations. However, heritage is also vulnerable, which is why it must be studied, protected and disseminated.
The Department of Heritage:
- promotes knowledge and vitality in heritage
- carries out awareness raising actions to encourage the general public, and especially young people, to identify with it
- promote an innovative view of heritage, more closely linked to society and human development. This vision entails, amongst other things, using heritage to promote intercultural dialogue.
