A solidarity project can be developed as part of any of the other projects. It involves encouraging schools to put into practice the content of the UNESCO Declaration, in particular:

A peace based exclusively upon the political and economic arrangements of governments would not be a peace which could secure the unanimous, lasting and sincere support of the peoples of the world, and … the peace must therefore be founded, if it is not to fail, upon the intellectual and moral solidarity of mankind.

The proposed objectives include:

• Educating about peaceful, non-violent commitment-based attitudes when faced with personal and social conflict
• Promoting peace and international cooperation
• Carrying out work to understand other countries’ problems
• Gaining knowledge and principles based on justice, equality, solidarity and peace
• Acquiring an ability to critique
• Facilitating exchange with schools in different countries
• Getting to know other countries and cultures
• Disseminating respect for Human Rights.
