UNESCO’s Associated Schools Project Network was created in 1953 with the aim of promoting international co-operation and peace through school education.
Today, more than 8,500 schools from around the world and all levels of education (infant school, primary school, secondary school and university) participate in the network.
In 2005, the Catalan schools, which currently number close to 70, set up an association with a separate legal status, the Network of Catalan UNESCO-Associated Schools (XEAUC). Unescocat offers them its technical support and invites them to participate in the educational projects organised by Unescocat’s Department of Education.
