Every year since 1994, World Teachers' Day is held to pay homage to teachers and their essential role in achieving quality education at all levels.

Unescocat translates and disseminates the joint message by the director generals from UNESCO, the ILO, UNICEF and UNEP. Additionally, it includes Catalan on the website that UNESCO makes available to pupils so that they can send messages of congratulations to their teachers.
