Unescocat has managed the Office of Religious Affairs (OAR), since May 2005. This municipal service is part of the Barcelona City Council’s Department of Civil Rights and is open to all individuals and religious organisations. From a secular position, the OAR promotes specialised knowledge about religions in the city. It also facilitates interaction between the different religious groups and the area in a non stressful way, promoting their participation and involvement in community development and respect towards religious freedom and freedom of thought.
