TALIA 2012 is the second edition of a training programme of the UNESCO Centre of Catalonia, in cooperation with the Institute of Educational Science of the Autonomous University of Barcelona, aimed at matching the need for training that requires capacity building, reorientation and professional expertise, based on critical reflection and practical thinking. This should help us build living-together, social cohesion and sustainable development.
In the current situation, it is essential that people understand and know how to manage diversity. This is why it becomes more and more important to have specialized training in the fields of cultural, linguistic and religious diversity, heritage and sustainability. It should add value to professional, personal and social life and be oriented to building a sustainable and inclusive society.
The UNESCO Centre of Catalonia is well aware of the importance of continued training but also of the fact that the difficulties to cope with crisis and (re)enter the labor market often impede access to such training. In this sense, TALIA 2012 embodies our firm commitment to make quality specialized training more accessible to all, and that is why we offer facilities for unemployed people, especially unemployed youth.
